Defamed Foreign Investor Files Report with Police

Denpasar (Bali Post) – April 25, 2005
Foreign Investor and Developer, Hanno Soth, reported, Thomas Henderson and magazine journalist Honolulu Star, Ian Y. Lind to Polda Bali. The trigger was, That PT. Hanno Bali’s boss has been being maligned through an article on internet. Now police investigate the report of Hanno Soth, as well as tracking of Thomas Henderson and Ian Lind.

The victim of the Defamation case Hanno Soth showed evidence to Polda Bali including a number of authentic facts like the article that written by Ian Lind in Honolulu Star Magazine, Hawaii which spreads malicious information about Hanno Soth, affecting the business of PT. Hanno Bali.

Ian Lind’s article on the internet, shows fictitious facts like developer Hanno Soth. Ian Lind, wrote the article without verification,” said Hanno Soth to Bali Post, Wednesday (27/4) yesterday.

The victim also showing the proof of the report to Polda Bali. Letter No. Pol: LP/92/III/2005/Dit. Reskrim criminal investigation dated 31 March 2005 signed by AKP Megeng Adnyana and receipt of the report Briptu Ketut Soma Ardana.

Police have begun an investigation. The base of law for investigation is the report of the victim and article in Honolulu Star magazine. If it proved, the suspects can be prosecuted under criminal pasal 310 and 335 KUHP “The writing posted on internet and has spread through Indonesia. This is clearly damaging for PT. Hanno Bali,” added Hanno Soth.
